18 comments:

  1. My favorite Renaissance artist was Michelangelo. This is because, even though he was a sculptor and not a painter, when the Pope asked him to paint the Sistine Chapel, not only did he agree, but that painting is now one of the most famous in the world. Also, his statue of David is one of the most realistic sculpors of a person ever done. Not only was Michelangelo a great painter, but he was also a great thinker who proposed inventions that weren't created until cenuries later. That is why Michelangelo is my favorite Renaissance artist.

  3. My favorite Artist of the Renaissance is Leonardo da Vinci. He was a great painter, and his most famous piece of art was the Mona Lisa. The painting was amazing because no matter what angle you looked at it seems as if her eyes followed you. But that’s not why I chose him. I chose him because he was also an amazing inventor. He created inventions like the glider. He was also ahead of his time like Michelangelo, he had ideas of things that were created thousands of years later like the helicopter.

My favorite artist of the Renaissance period has to be Michaelangelo. A reason why he is my favorite is the fact that he was devoted to one painting for 5 years straight! Another reason why is because his Statue of David is so precise and exact that it made him very popular as a sculptor.

  12. My favorite renaissance artist is Leonardo Da Vinci. I don't know much about art but I do like his painting the Mona Lisa. His artwork is not why I chose him though. He is known as a renaissance man because he knows about many different things. One day I hope to know info on many different subjects just like him. I also like that he was an inventor because making new things appeals to me and seems interesting.

  13. My prefered artist during the Renaissance was Leonardo da Vinci. The intelligence and ideas he had were spectacular. He was several hundreds of years advanced in his time with the inventions he had thought of. Da Vinci had great ideas such as helicopters, planes, parachutes, etc. What astonishes me the most is his most famous work of art, The Mona Lisa. The details in the painting are so specific, especially the eyes that "follow" you in the direction you walk. Leonardo has to be my most favorite of his time.

  14. My favorite artist is Leonardo da Vinci, which was born Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci. He was a painter, sculptor, architect, musician, scientist, mathematician, engineer, inventor, anatomist, geologist, cartographer, botanist and writer. My favorite paintings by him would be the Mona Lisa, The Last Supper, The Vitruvian Man. Out of the three, mona lisa would be my favorite even though its a painting of a not the prettiest woman with no eye brows. It is my favorite because of the mystery of why it was painted. In December 2010 it was claimed that the Mona Lisa appears to have tiny letters and numbers in her eyes which are only apparent when viewed with a magnifying glass.
