If I was alive during the French Revolution I would not support the king, but I wouldn't want him dead either. That's just mean. Even though I do not agree with any of his decisions and hate him with great power, I still wouldn't want him dead. He is a human being and deserves to live. Why should his life end so early just becuse he is an absolutely horrible leader?
I wouldn't want him dead, even though he is has unfair rules and does nothing for some people. There are other ways of dealing with this. Death isn't the only option. If there was a chance to vote i'd vote someone else as king. There can also be protests. There is government too, they can do something for you to make you happier and help out the king situation he doesn't deserve to die, no should no matter how much u hate them.
Whether you are the leader of something as little as your classroom or as large as the world you need to be a prudent leader, which the king was not. So I believe he should not be given power but that doesn’t mean he should be killed. Making mistakes is a part of life and everyone has the right to be forgiven and should be given a second chance. He made a grave mistake and was very irresponsible but that gives no one the right to kill the individual. He is a human being and made a mistake. There are always other alternatives to solve a situation, so they could have voted someone else to be king, but there was no need to execute him. That is why I believe the king should have been given a second chance.
Even though the king was not fair, I do not believe the king should be executed. Everyone will make mistakes and the king made his by choosing the wrong ways to rule. I believe that there should have been other ways to keep the king from ruling without him dead.
Personally, if i was alive during the French Revolution, i would not want the king dead. I would definetly want him out of power, but not dead. He is still very young and has a whole life to live. To solve this major problem of crisis, all you have to do is take him out of power. Put a more experienced older official that will do good to the people. I wouldn't support the king, but i would not want him dead
If i was alive during the French revolution, I wouldn't want the king dead. I think that the society or place that he is controlling should vote for a new king. Its not right for him to be killed. People should only have two choices to pick from, either support the king or you dont. That's like the people in New Jersey will have our governer exacuted for not being a good leader. It doesnt make any sense. I believe that there should be a different way for the king to stop controlling.
I believe that the king was wrong for ruling the way he did, but he shouldn't have been put to death. If every time we didn't like a ruler, leader, president, or king a lot of men would be put death. If the people overthrew the king and the king regained his power, I'm sure the people could overthrough the king again. What you want done on to you, you do to others. The king doesn't deserve to die for being a bad king.
If I was alive during the French Revolution, I would not support the king. The king wasn't the best rulers, but I wouldn't want him dead either. Everyone has a right to live. If that someone doesn't do what's right, the person will deal with the consequences. The king didn't do what's right, which made people dislike him. If I was living in the French Revolution, I would be one of those people who disliked him. Even though I would dislike him, I wouldn't want him dead because everyone has a right to live.
Although it is true that the king was an unjust ruler who was not suited to rule over anyone let alone an entire country I think that to kill him should be considered over extreme punishment. However, I would remove him from power and possibly send him to a prison or something of the equivalence for his careless disregard for his country. I think that this rather than death is a better suited punishment because although he was a horrible ruler and really didn't care about the people he ruled for, execution seems unrational and like a decision that was not thought over properly. I also think that the same punishment should be given to Marie Antoinette, because she committed the same crimes as her husband. I think that to be put to execution for being a bad leader is very unjust because many people have done worse and not recieved such anextreme sentence.
If I was alive during the French Revolution, I would not only want the king out of power, but I will want him executed by the guillotine where he sent thousands of people to die. The king made many mistakes throughout his time in power but he had a chance to fix all of it. The National Assembly knew he was wrong about the taxes and gave him a chance to correct himself. Instead his First and Second Estate not only laughed in the Third Estate's face but locked them out of the meetings. He even had a chance to redeem himself again when the revolt began but decided against it. The king made several mistakes and deserves to be executed. After all, he's executed many people for less.
If I was alive during the time of King I would only want him out of power. Having him executed by the guillotine would look bad on the people. Equality was one thing that they were fighting for, wouldn't the king deserve it too? It also strikes fear into the locals. An alternative to killing him would also be just to send him to jail. With him in jail the fear of him revolting against the new nation would be gone. The French were trying to follow America's ideals. The Americans hated the king, but they didn't him put to death. Instead they signed a peace treaty, the French could have done the same.
The truth is that the king was unjust to the people and the other truth is that everyone makes mistakes. So I believe that even after the cruelty the king showed to the people he should be forgiven. I would have taken away all the powers and rights of the king but death as a punishment would be cruel. If he made a mistake he should be given the chance to redeem himself. Many may say that the king did wrong and killed many people and should also be killed but I think if I lived in the time of the French Revolution I would have let him live and watch someone else rule the country he did. I believe that is more painful then death at once.
I would have wanted to keep him alive. As long as he was stripped of his power, he would not have been not a threat and he could have been of use to the government later on. Also, there had already been many drastic changes and keeping him alive could have kept things more in order. However, I would not risk voicing my opinion and being seen as a counter-revolutionary.
If I was alive during the French Revolution, I would have wanted the king dead. First of all, he stopped caring about the nation and spent his money on hunting and building Versailles. He taxed the Third Estate but not First and Second. King's wife, Mary Antoinette, spent money buying fancy gowns, shoes, parties, and getting her hair done. And most of all, he bankrupted France. If a ruler like him was ruling, honestly, I dont think I would want him alive.
I think if I was alive during the French Revolution i would've wanted the king dead. As long as he was alive he was a threat to the country. At any time he could've mounted a come back. If he some how back back into power he would've made it worse because of how the people treated him. For revolutionary purposes it would be more efficient and a safer way to do things.
If I were alive during the French Revolution, I would not be for the king, but neither would I want him dead. His actions are unjust and his ruling was terrible. Then again he is a human just like me and if I were in his place, I would not want to die. I would be satisfied knowing that he had no rights to rule anymore. I believe that if he tried to take over once more, than he should have been executed. Death at once is just not right.
If I was alive during the French Revolution. I would keep the king alive. Not because I think killing him is not right but because I think he would suffer more if he were kept alive. I would send him to a holding facility where he would be stripped of his power and he wouldn't be able to do anything. That seems much worse to me as opposed to dying. Dying would be very brief and is too simple.
