QUESTION OF THE WEEK!
QUESTION OF THE WEEK
Do you feel that it was right for Napoleon to temporarily take away some of the citizens rights in order to stabilize the country and put an end to the revolution? If you were a leader in the same situation, would you do the same thing?
Yes i think it is right because everyone wanted to get out of the revolution. Napoleon needed to do what ever can to get them out of the revolution. People agreed with him on this and they told him he can do what he needs to do. In order to give the people what they want he has to take risks to get out of what they don't want. Yes i would do the same thing as Napoleon because if my people wanted something i would try anything to do it for them, thats what a leader does.
ReplyDeleteI do not think that it was right for Napolean to take away some of the citizens rights in order to stabalize the country and get them out of the revolution. This is because the whole reason for having the rrevolution was that the people wanted those rights, so for Napoean to take them away, realy doesn't make sense. I also think that in order to stabalize the country, rather than taking away the citizens' rights I think that Napolean should have stabalized the country the way it was going to be afterward and giv e the people the rights they had just won a revolution for. If I were in the same situation, I would not do what Napolean did.
ReplyDeleteI think Napoleon did the right thing. He did what he had to do to save his nation. Sure there were some people that probably didn't think it was right, but for the most part, the people agreed. He brought his nation out of a revolution. Not many other people in my opinion could have done it the way he did.I think what he could've done could have been a lot worse. Sure he probably could have done some things better? Yes of course, but he got it done and that's what is important. If I was a leader in his position I would have done the same thing.
ReplyDeleteI think Napoleon was right to take away some of the citizen's rights. With those rights there was a revolution going on, and the revolution began with the wanting of those rights. Basically, the rights bring revolution. Therefore, the rights had to be taken away in order to bring the nation to an end of the revolution. Napoleon did the right thing, and yes I would have done the same. I would do anything to save the nation I am ruling.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I believe Napoleon did the correct thing. His job as a ruler is to make his nation better in all possible ways. If you ask me if I think it is fair, I'll say it is not. But thinking about it throughout clearly, it is a few rights for the sake of the whole nation. If I were in Napoleon's shoes I would have done the same exact thing. It is better to risk few people and end a revolution than to end an entire nation and the power held within.
ReplyDeleteYes, I believe that it was right for Napoleon to take away the citizens rights. He did not take away the rights forever, but only for temperary amount of time to get France on the right track. If I were in the same situation he was in I would have done exactly the same. It turned out to be better for everyone in the long run.
ReplyDeleteThe revolution was caused because people wanted these rights. Napoleon taking them away brought them back to what happened before the revolution. With him taking that away it's like killing the king and queen was useless. Napoleon said he was doing this to stabilize the country. But would you want a president to take away your rights so he could help the country's economy. I believe he should have given the right that the people fought for. I think that it was a good thing that he was exiled.
ReplyDeleteYes, I believe he did the right thing to take power from the citizens of France to stabilize the country from the economic problems they were facing and put an end to the French Revolution. If I was a leader in the same situation, I would take the same actions that Napoleon took when he was faced with the situation. I would face the situation, not alone, but along with a group of others to specify the cons and pros of the plan to stabilize the country. The more brains, the better. Two or more brains are better than one.
ReplyDeleteDuring the Revolution, it brought many problems. France became a broken country that needed rebuilding. What Napoleon did was take away, temporarily, some of the citizens rights. Napoleon did this so that he slowly could fix this broken country. I beieve he did this out of what he thoght was best for his country an I agree with him. Taking these rights away might not have been fair and no citizen must have liked it at the time, but looking back he did it only temporarily to restructure his country and this is why I think it was a good idea for Napoleon to only take some of the citizens rights.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, Napoleon Bonaparte absolutely did the right thing by taking some rights away from the citizens. He didn't do it just to do, it was the only option to get his country out of the revolution. He knew what needed to be done to help his country and even though it may seem mean to the citizens at that point, they will eventually thank him. If I was in a similar situation, I will definitely follow what Napoleon did. I will do whatever was needed to help my country.
ReplyDeleteI believe that it was right for Napoleon to temporarily take away some of the citizens rights in order to stabilize the country and put an end to the revolution. I do not agree with the way he imposed his principles on other countries. If I were in his situation I would have done the same thing, but I would have known my limits and how far I could push not only my people but the countries around me. I would not have made the mistake of invading Russia without adequate supplies and I would have made allies with stronger nations before I tried to rule the "civilized world"
ReplyDeleteThere were many different causes of the Revolution but the main reason was the need of rights. The citizens wanted equal rights so what Napoleon Bonaparte did was understandable. Sometimes to gain you have to lose first. So we need to understand that Napoleon temporarily took the rights of citizens to help them. They might have hated it then but in the future they got there equality, so it was worth it. During the Revolution France broke, it needed a lot of help and needed to be put together again, so that is what Napoleon did. If i was the leader I would have done the same thing. I wouldn't have hesitated to help my country.
ReplyDeleteYes, I believe it was right temporarily take away some rights of the people to free them of the revolution. If taking away rights for a limited time meant saving them from not having any at all,I would have done same thing to for my country. Napoleon did more than get them equality he tried to expand, and he did but he made the mistake of invading Russia witch cost him a lot of men.Napoleon was a great leader but even the best make mistakes.
ReplyDeleteI do believe Napoleon made the right decision. He only took the citizens rights temporarily. The only reason he did that was to make the country stronger than it already was. Fortunetly, he succeeded. This not only made the stronger, but as soon as the citizens got their rights back, they were happier than before. If he hadn't done this, there was a possibility that the country and its citizens would have no rights.
ReplyDeleteYes I do believe that Napoleon made the right decision by taking away the citizen's right temporarily. He was trying to make the country stronger and a better place to live. He wanted everyone to believe in the same things. If i was the leader of that country, I would do the same. I would want to help my country the best way I can. The idea that Napoleon had was a good success.
ReplyDeleteI think what Napoleon did was the right thing to do. France wasn't in a good position and Napoleon needed to get things back on track. Any risks or any complications would obviously occur. France wasn't going to magically have a new person to rule and all the problems go away. If I would a leader, I would do the same thing. Its better to take a chance, then to wait for a miracle. I would always have in my head that everything would be better after all the changes.
ReplyDeleteIt is never right to take away someones rights, but in Napoleons case I think it was excusable. He was the only reason that France was able to regain a stable government and regain power. Without him, France would have still been vulnerable and the Directory would have still been in charge. Who knows what this could have led to.
