3/15/2012 Not including the painting that you submitted, which painting that we viewed today did you like the most? Explain why you like the painting as well as the style it was painted in.
I liked Woman With a Mandolin. This painting is in cubism style. It shows a woman playing the mandolin in an odd way. Instead of clearly showing the woman, the painting is made with many different shapes. It gives the viewer an opportunity to have different emotions toward the painting. Cubism uses many shapes. It is very unique and fun. That is why I liked that painting.
My favorite painting was Potato Eaters by Vincent Van Gogh. I find that the dark colors and the emotion showed in the painting is very interesting and appealing. I really enjoy paintings with emotions because I can relate to them. I think that postimpressionism is very pleasant to look at. I enjoy it more than impressionism and cubism. That is why Potato Eaters is my favorite painting from the ones we say in class
My favorite painting would be Starry Night by Van Gogh. This painting is an example of post impressionism. I like how the colors he used shows his emotions. The dark colors show that he is either sad or depressed. The swirls catch my attention right away. The painting is so beautiful with the patterns and color scheme. This picture really does speaks a thousand words.
One of my favorite paintings we viewed today in class was Claude Monet’s “A Bridge over a Pond of Water Lilies”. This painting seemed to be outstanding because mainly, it made want to be there. Also I liked the uses of color and how it was it was portrayed. It was painted in the style Impressionism. They use pastel colors and use of water, light, and the sky.
The painting I liked was "Sunset in Venice." I found this painting very nice because of the setting. The sunset seemed very realistic, almost as if you were looking at one. It defined impressionism because it was outdoors and it used many colors. The sky itself had about 3 different colors. It also gives you a very warm feeling. It is a nice drawing.
My favorite painting is "Women with a Parasol" by Claude Monet. I like this painting because the women with the umbrella. The way Monet painted her with the little boy catches my eyes. It also depicts the outside beautifully with the pastel colors. My favorite painting that we viewed in class today was the "Women with a Parasol" by Claude Monet because the way he painted the women and child showed a family feel to it.
Of the paintings we viewed today in class, my favorite one was Cliff Walk at Pourville. It is an impressionism painting by Claude Monet. This painting mainly consists of three colors- blue, green, and white. The way the colors come together make such a beautiful site. Looking at this painting, I feel relaxed, calm, and I feel like I am there. It's as if the ocean's breeze were to be passing through my fingeers gently. The feeling brought upon by this painting is amazing.
Today in class we viewed the paintings of three very talented artists, Claude Monet Pablo Picasso and Vincent Van Gogh. Out of all the paintings my favorite would have to be Friendship by Pablo Picasso. I am a person who loves uniqueness and creativeness. Pablo Picasso had his unique style of cubism paintings; he used shapes such as circles, triangles, semi-circles and rectangles in his paintings. In this painting we see two people basically comforting each other. That is the reason the name of this painting is Friendship. I love the bold colors used in this painting. This painting is painted in the cubism style. This is a unique painting which is the reason its my favorite.
We viewed many paintings today in class completed 3 talented artists ahead of their time. At the time they were painted, the paintings were priceless, but now they're worth near thousands, even millions. My favorite painting was the one that Sage showed us. It was done by Claude Monet. The paintings name is "Women with a Parasol." The painting was painted in 1875 and the original hangs in the National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC, USA. This painting in particular is not worth as much as others done by Monet, but would be considered as one of the most pleasant to look at. The painting shows a women and a young boy. The one is in many of Monte's painting and eventually got married.
The painting that I liked the most was starry night by Van Vogh. This painting is an example of post impressionism.I liked this picture the most because it shows a beutiful painting of the night sky.I also like it because Van Gogh uses dark colors to show his own emotion.
My favorite painting is "Starry Night" by Vincent van Gogh. It is a great looking painting that depicts the stars in the sky at night. I like it because of the dark colors used and because I like to look up at the stars. It is a perfect example of a post impressionism painting. It represents the feelings that the artist experienced.
My favorite painting out of the ones that we viewed was "A Bridge Over a Pond of Water Lillies." This painting was by Claude Monet and is a great example of impressionism art. The portrayal of light water and sky in this painting was remarkabe. Monet is one of my favorite painters and that is why I like this painting so much. I think Monet is very talented and this painting proves it.
Out of the three artists and styles, I like Claude Monet and his impressionist paintings the most. All of them are beautiful, but my favorite is "Woman with a Parasol". There is a unique mood created and one can relate to the woman and child in the picture. I also love the perspective he used. The colors are very nice, especially in the grass, and the people's clothes are well-drawn and pleasing to the eye. This is one of my favorite paintings and if i could i would hang it in my own home.
My favorite painting was "Bridge over Pond of Water Lilies". This is my favorite painting because I love the scenery. The background and colors blend in really well. Behind all the other paintings were messages. Behind this one is just the beauty of nature. I prefer this over all of the Picasso's paintings because Cubism doesn't look to nice. It's all shapes. Van Gogh's paintings all reflect his emotions, when I see his art I think of how he felt rather then how the painting really looks like.
Of the many paintings we viewed in class, my favorite painting, not including mine, would definitely be "Sunset in Venice." I enjoy the realistic view that makes you feel like you are actually in Venice at sunrise. The colors used create a very warm setting and the radiation of colors from yellow to orange to blue is great. Monet did a great job of creating a painting that is nearly identical to his view that morning. Claude Monet is an amazing painter and I believe "Sunset in Venice" is one of his best.
The painting that I liked the most was potato eaters by vincent van gogh. It shows depression because of the dark colors in the painting. It shows the family is poor because they all look sad and their dinner is just potatoes. You can almost always identify post-impressionism because of the distinct brush strokes.
After seeing the many wonderful paintings I can say that my favorite one was "A Bridge over a pond of water Lillies" I love this painting because of the bright colors that are used in the painting. The scenery is beautiful. Another reason why I favor that painting is because it shows how Monet liked to paint the beautiful nature that was right in his back yard.
